In 1948, Mr. Wiley and Lizzie Litchfield started prayer meetings in their home, sparking a revival that led to the creation of Hickory Grove Community Church in 1949, thanks to land and timber donations from Neal Hennent and the Litchfield brothers. The church officially became Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1958 under Rev. Ernest Cooper. Despite periods of low attendance, faithful members kept it alive, and it expanded significantly over the years, adding new buildings and facilities. Under the leadership of various pastors, including Rev. Reginald Thames, Jr. and Rev. Douglas Cooper, the church has continued to grow and serve the community, always giving glory to Jesus Christ.
